Funmilayo Tokunbo Modebola-Fadimine, Nigeria

Tpl (Mrs) Modebola-Fadimine Funmilayo Tokunbo mnitp, rtp, is in the Directorate cadre of the Ondo State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development and also serves as the Geographical Information Systems Officer (GIS) of the Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) a world bank funded project now funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB). 

She is a Registered Town Planner (RTP) and a member and fellow of several national and international professional organisations particularly, NITP, GEOSON, ISOCARP, InternationalMetropolitan Fellowship, African Planners Institute. She specializes in infrastructure planning and financing, focusing on land value capture and stakeholders engagement.  

Funmi volunteers for several organizations both nationally and internationally. She is a digital facilitator and an accredited training provider. She volunteers as the Ondo State coordinator for Young Foundation Line for Social Development, she serves aa.Matron. of Young Planners Forum of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Ondo State branch, she is the deputy coordinator of African Diaspora Leadership Initiative (AfiDiLi), and a climate change ambassador.  


Julio Carrillo, USA

Julio Carrillo, AICP, LEED AP ND, is a Senior Planner & Manager with Parkhill's Planning Sector. Julio is a Certified Planner (AICP), Peruvian Architect (CAP), and LEED Accredited Professional. He co-founded and directed Peru's Green Building Council.   

He served as chair in Austin's AIA Urban Design Committee (2022), and currently serves as the chair of Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee at the Urban Land Institute of Austin – Texas. He has been awarded and recognized for his urban design practice. In 2021 Julio was selected as an International Expert of a group leading a research team of young professionals planning the future of cities in Asia. 

Julio is Director at Planning Commitment Inc (www.planningcommitment.org), forging the implementation of the PLANNING 2050 initiative: a commitment for cities, communities, planning professionals, firms, and organizations to take action that positively impact aspects of Equity, Climate Change and Resiliency.  


Opeyemi Comfort Akintola, Nigeria

Opeyemi Comfort Akintola is a skilled urban and regional planner with over 10 years of experience in the built environment. She is currently Senior Town Planner at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Nigeria, where she oversees physical planning, infrastructure coordination, and spatial project management. She holds a B.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning and an M.Sc. in GIS and Cartography, focusing on spatial modeling and data-driven planning. Opeyemi has extensive expertise in site planning, development control, and project supervision. She contributes to academic research, particularly in housing, sustainability, and spatial equity, and advocates for planning frameworks that address regional imbalance in Nigeria. A Registered Town Planner (TOPREC), she is also an active member of NITP and ISOCARP. Passionate about resilient and sustainable cities, Opeyemi aims to bridge planning with economic realities and shape policy for inclusive urban futures.


Wail Ismail Bakhit, Saudi Arabia 

Wail is a city and regional planning and policy consultant with over 22 years of diverse and broad experience working with government, public, think tanks and academic sectors. Through this exciting career, Wail has had the privilege of participating in the guidance of developing prominent national and city-wide projects in Saudi Arabia and contributing to the dissemination of planning knowledge through research, teaching and public awareness. While his main research interests range from the dilemma of development between national strategies and local plans, to the role of urban design and urban policy in achieving a decent quality of life, and sustainable urban transformation in light of changing urban dynamics, his practical experience and consultancy address spatial development in sensitive contexts, placemaking approaches in transformative communities, and navigating the complexities of local governance. Wail holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Sc.), a Master of City and Regional Planning (MCRP), and a Professional Certificate in Public Policy Analysis.
